If you are after a step up from cubs and a way to relieve the evening and some weekend boredom then this is for you.  The scout unit  carry out a number of activities including ready steady cook, knots, archery, map & compass work culminating in a night hike. We have also undertaken shelter building, quasar and roller skating and had a “hut” party to celebrate a royal wedding.

We aim to camp out at least twice a year, including joining the cubs and beavers in the annual group camp.  Our  camps see us participate in mini expeditions where we hiked most of the day, take part in a number of wide games and cook our own dinner whilst on the trail. Also we have been to the Essex winter camp held at Gilwell

We have taken part in a number of district activities which include the district raft race and also JOTT (Jamboree on the Trail) which was part of a worldwide event where scouts from across the globe all took part in a walking activity on the same day! We plan to do more district events in the coming terms, which include go-karting, ten pin bowling plus the annual St .George's day parade. We are also keen to take part in the survival weekend at the end of October where the scouts build and sleep in their own shelters, build fires and cook their own food using backwards cooking techniques.

We have 3 very committed leaders and several parent helpers who are dedicated to providing the best possible scouting environment for the teenagers to enjoy a wide range of activities in a fun learning environment but more importantly a safe environment  .
